RX GARDEN: Log Pile (2008) 2009

The Rx Garden project is an exploration of plant-made pharmaceuticals that uses information associated with the natural and synthesized medical world. Inspired by biopharming (a process that uses genetic modification to 'grow' active chemical components, including human proteins, in host plants that are harvested to make drugs) in this piece a log pile plays host to an inorganic and synthetically colored lichen growth.
